Where the Hell have I been?

Tue Oct 27, 2009, 9:58 PM
I'll put it simple.

I've been to hell and back again with a huge impossible work load.
The roof is not done there is still one side with old shingles, and the new slant over the flat roof is leaking STILL. the flat roof use to leak horrible, now this one is doing the same, it never fucking stops... in case you haven't guessed, I've been re roofing my house.

put in a new door on my house last week, that went well enough, but getting the siding back on proved to be hell.

New doors and windows on the rental house, that has just been started, and its a major pain in the ass...

Transfer case on my truck is seizing up, the truck is locked in four-wheel drive, and it makes a horrible sound now, I'm not driving it anywhere soon now, which means, i'm not going to be able to drive anywhere.

I can't hardly sleep.

My friends irl are un-reliable and a bunch of users.

My school is filled with idiots, hicks, and completely intolerant teachers.

I hardly get any time to talk with anyone anymore as they are busy with their own things and projects themselves, its important that they get done...

and that's pretty much it, I've been all over the damn place, done alot of shit i shouldn't have had to, and now i feel totally useless and depressed suddenly.

that pretty much sums it up, if i still have any watchers to read this that is.. i know I've been inactive... but I've had alot of problems to deal with as well.

September 11, 2009

There were many journals I've read pertaining to 9/11/01, 8 years ago.

I can remember it all vividly, i can remember where i was, everything.

I grieve the lost, and I touched and saw things from 9/11, the huge flag that other disaster areas sewed their flag on, which reminds me, Little Sioux Scout ranch flag is also on that very flag, its a part of it now.

But, the day the Chapel, the New York Fire Fighters built, the day it was pretty much finished, they nailed on a piece of the world trade centers onto the chapel, and hung a wind chime as well.

I got to meet with some of the fire fighters, they are my heroes, and they are Americans through and through. they are special, and amazing people.

I'd just like to say God bless the ones living and the ones who perished in the towers, because they were all Americans.

It was a honor for me to call them my heroes, and for them to call me, and the rest of the scouts of June 11th, 2008, theirs...

God Bless America.

The Wind Blows Strong, but Roots Run Deep

Mon Sep 7, 2009, 8:18 AM
I'm back, from four days of rebuilding the tornado'd camp called Little Sioux Scout Ranch.

Many of you know, or maybe not, know about the place, but a organization called New York Says Thank You, came to help.

They Brought New York Fire Fighters from 9/11 to help build a chapel where the North Shelter once stood. people from Greensburg, Katrina, Texas... from all over came to us, to help us rebuild the camp.

one hell of a 4 days... lots of healing.. lots of crying and joy.. work... rolled into one i was pretty tired out.. but now I realize I'm not quite home anymore...

Little Sioux.. or maybe just Iowa.. IS home.. not Nebraska.. or at least not where i live.. not anymore.. its not home..

one of those times..

I've been awefully silent lately, mostly due to the fact i'm pretty fed up with "here"

the only reason i haven't packed up my shit and left is because I've had so much time invested here.

I found a job and its lousy at that, i get yelled at for doing my job to well and too fast.

its rather annoying I'm not some common employee i can think for myself

socially at school, not even worth it.

girls treat me Like i'm some kinda disease and I've lost so much weight its funny.. really, my clothes don't fit right anywhere. guys treat me like some kinda psycho, but there again, maybe its better off that way...

I'm prepared for the real world

they arent.

theres been so much to do and little time to do it its frustrating really..

its just one of those things i guess, one of those times where I'm really down and out of the fight i have not real need to be in cause I know I'll just get shot to hell and not make back

I'm like the good ol B-17 only i'm the only who if flying my formation, and i'm the only one getting flak, none the less i fly on regardless of what happens. perhaps even a wing and a prayer.. i don't really know.

I could really use a break, things jsut aren't going the way i planned, recruiters practically knocking down my front door, teachers who are supposed to teach don't, they instead push college more then the learning material.

I wont leave just that theres been so much going on and I try to take responsibility only to be told not to, to sit down be be quiet. only so much i can take of that, I'm a leader and I KNOW IT. I've had more experiences and the guts to get through more then these kids ever will in their life, not that I wish any of it upon them..

like i said

its one of those times

Please read if you are an American

Red Shirt

If the red shirt thing is new to you, read below how it went for a man...

Last week, while traveling to Chicago on business, I noticed a Marine sergeant traveling with a folded flag, but did not put two and two together. fter we boarded our flight, I turned to the sergeant, who'd been invited to sit in First Class (across from me), and inquired if he was heading home.

No, he responded.
Heading out I asked?

No.. I'm escorting a soldier home.
Going to pick him up?

No. He is with me right now. He was killed in Iraq , I'm taking him home to his family.

The realization of what he had been asked to do hit me like a punch to the gut. It was an honor for him. He told me that, although he didn't know the soldier, he had to delivered the news of his passing to the soldier's family and felt as if he knew them after many conversations in so few days.

I turned back to him, extended my hand, and said, Thank you. Thank you for doing what you do so my family and I can do what we do.Upon landing in Chicago the pilot stopped short of the gate and made the following announcement over the intercom.

"Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to note that we have had the honor of having Sergeant Steeley of the United States Marine Corps join us on this flight He is escorting a fallen comrade back home to his family. I ask that you please remain in your seats when we open the forward door to allow Sergeant Steeley to deplane and receive his fellow soldier. We will then turn off the seat belt sign."

Without a sound, all went as requested. I noticed the sergeant saluting the casket as it was brought off the plane, and his action made me realize that I am proud to be an American... So here's a public Thank You to our military Men and Women for what you do so we can live the way we do.

=Red Fridays.=

Very soon, you will see a great many people wearing Red every Friday. The reason? Americans who support our troops used to be called the "silent majority." We are no longer silent, and are voicing our love for God, country and home in record breaking numbers. We are not organized, boisterous or overbearing.

Many Americans, like you, me and all our friends, simply want to recognize that the vast majority of America supports our troops. Our idea of showing solidarity and support for our troops with dignity and respect starts this Friday -- and continues each and every Friday until the troops all come home, sending a deafening mes sage that ... Every red-blooded American who supports our men and women a far, will wear something red.

By word of mouth, press, TV -- let's make the United States on every Friday a sea of red much like a homecoming football game in the bleachers. If every one of us who loves this country will share this with acquaintances, coworkers, friends, and family, it will not be long before the USA is covered in RED and it will let our troops know the once "silent" majority is on their side more than ever, certainly more than the media lets on.

The first thing a soldier says when asked "What can we do to make things better for you?" is. "We need your support and your prayers." Let's get the word out and lead with class and dignity, by example, and wear something red every Friday.

This is something I got in an e-mail, I'm simply passing on the word, and I will be wearing a red shirt...
